Pumpkin Carving

It was a first on Sunday evening. Kaiden was carving his very first pumpkin and everybody was home that evening! That is a lot to say having three teenagers that are constantly going ing three different directions. Kaiden was so excited about carving his pumpkin and all week long the two words that he kept repeating were Halloween and pumpkin.

After getting set up for pumpkin carving on our back patio we carved top off of Kaiden's pumpkin and showed him how to remove the guts out of the pumpkin. He absolutely didn't want to touch any of it! He began to fuss if any of the pumpkin guts got on his arm and had to have it wiped off immediately. However, he would use the little scaper that came with the pumpkin carving kit that we had purchased. He had a lot of fun scraping his pumpkin and watching Kirstie, Shanna and Lindsay carve their pumpkins. When Shanna and Lindsay decided to throw the pumpkin guts at each other he yelled and said "STOP".

It was nice spending time together as a family since it is a rare occassion now days! With a little (okay a lot!) of help from Daddy, Kaiden's bat pumpkin was complete!

Happy 3rd Birthday Kaiden!

On October 19 Kaiden celebrated his 3rd Birthday! Although our whole family was excited to celebrate this special day, Kaiden didn't seem to be too thrilled at the fact that it was his birthday. He had been exposed to singing Happy Birthday since we celebrated Shanna & Lindsays birthday in August so the highlight of his birthday was singing Happy Birthday and blowing out his candles. Everybody enjoyed the cake and ice cream but Kaiden doesn't care too much for ice cream or anything extremely sweet so he just took a few bites of cake and it was back to playing with his new toys. Between the gifts that he received from Frank and I, his sisters, his grandma and grandpa, and our dear friends Laura and Gary, Kaiden was indeed spoiled!
