With little honor I present the........

Congratulations auto industry executives. You have officially earned my vote in the Jackass of the Day Award! I haven't blogged in over a week now since my time has been filled with spending time with my little man, end of the semester assignments, Thanksgiving planning and home renovations....Wheeeew, just listing it makes me tired! One thing I do stay on top of is the happenings of our great Country(and other blogs).

After AIG's bailout, and their lovely 4-star vacation retreat to recouperate from their bailout stress .....uhhmmmm ya uhuh okay (thats sarcasm by the way). Of course, this is $450,000 dollars later at our (taxpayers) expense. All I had to say at the time was, "What The Hell?" Oh, and we can't forget the bailout for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Then to place a cherry on top of the mess our country is in, the auto industry is seeking a government bailout. I do understand that the auto industry is an important market in the US economy, and provides jobs for many middle class families across the country. The middle class families that are the staple which keeps this great country strong.

I take pride in being frugal, and I have some suggestions to all of the Mr. CEO's of the auto industry or Mr. CEO of any other industry for that matter. First of all, a paycheck of $28 million plus bonuses thoughout the year is a little (okay A LOT) excessive! Yes, I know, you donate a lot of money to different organizations to help the needy (big tax write off), but I'm certain that you could make your money stretch (like my family does) with let's say a minimum of a $20 million dollar pay cut. I'm sure, Mr. CEO that $8 million would be sufficient for your auto industry expertise.

Next, I would have to say that when you fly back and forth to your home on the weekends, you could ride first class for $1000 rather than $20,000 round trip on a private jet. Wow, a $19,000 savings every week. I've just saved your company $988,000 in airfare for the entire year! This would equal the wages of over 20 blue collar workers assembling your cars, trucks and SUV's! Just imagine if you rode in coach alongside all of the blue collar workers of your industry....Wow, you could even save more! Like my family, we make sacrafices......Amazing concept! Wow, in one year I have just saved over 20 jobs and saved $20 million dollars....unbelievable! Oh ya, the grocery store accepts coupons too, and sometimes they double them!

In all honesty though, I try to teach my children that you have to work hard and many times to make ends meet you have to cut corners or go even go without. I lead by example! Shame on you Mr. big industry CEO! Through your actions that are presented by the media, you try to show my children how to operate with greed and dishonesty, but what you have actually provided me with is a valuable tool to show my children what not to do!
